Accretion I

The most expansive of the three, with a quiet, mineral softness. The matte surface keeps it restrained, while the form still throws strong, shifting shadows that give it real presence in a space.

Built in black clay, coiled into two half-spheres and joined. Opened and reworked at leather hard, with holes cut and smaller coils added to form the mounds.

Natural firing over two stages, then a stucco cement mix with a white glaze additive, painted and brushed onto the surface. Finished with varnish to hold the matte texture.
