Background & Practice

I’m a self-taught ceramic artist based in East Sussex. I started working seriously with clay around four years ago and developed a studio practice centred on sculptural work rather than functional ware. I’m still learning all the time, but over the last few years I’ve built a body of work that’s been shown in exhibitions including The Holy Art (London) and galleries in East Sussex.

From the Studio & Updates

From the Studio is where I share new pieces as they develop, surface and glaze tests, and the occasional note on what I’m exploring in the workshop.

One-off sculptural ceramic pieces for indoor display. Each work is made by hand in my studio and is designed to be lived with, viewed from different angles, and appreciated for texture and shadow.

Potfest South East,
Glynde Place 2026

I’m planning to exhibit at Potfest South East at Glynde Place from 22 to 24 May 2026. Glynde Place is an Elizabethan country house near Lewes in East Sussex, with easy access from Brighton, Eastbourne, and London. I’ll be bringing a selection of sculptural ceramic work, including one-off pieces focused on geology, texture, and form.

THE STUDIO

Sculptural practice inspired by geological form.

I make hand-built ceramic pieces that focus on surface, shadow, and form. My work is influenced by geology and the way time shapes landscapes—erosion, pressure, accretion, and weathering. I work mainly in stoneware and terracotta, often building slowly by hand to create textured surfaces that change as light moves across them.

A self-taught ceramic artist based in Sussex, my practice is centred on sculptural work rather than functional ware. Over the last few years I’ve built a body of work that’s been shown in exhibitions including The Holy Art (London) and galleries throughout the South East.
